Trust is the currency of our guide. When we label a restaurant as 'Halal Certified', we are putting our reputation on the line. Here is a transparent look at what goes into our verification process — documented in full on our editorial standards page.
The Documentation Standard
We do not take verbal assurances at face value. Our certified tier requires evidence of current, valid certification from recognized authorities, and every listing links the sources we used.
The 'Halal Friendly' Distinction
Not every excellent restaurant holds official certification. Some source halal meats but operate in a mixed environment. Our halal-friendly tier exists for exactly these venues, with the sourcing basis disclosed on each listing.
